17. About Marcel van Herpen
 
 
Marcel   Marcel van Herpen (1967; Heeswijk-Dinther) is projectleader of the expertise-centre of Sustainable Educating and Developing (www.duoo.org) and of the expertise-centre of Experience Oriented Education the Netherlands (www.ervaringsgerichtonderwijs.nl). He give lectures and workshops (inter)nationally and counsels training and implementation stages in pre-school education, primary education, secondary education and higher education. Van Herpen is co-founder of primary school Uilenspiegel in Boekel (N.Br.) (www.uilenspiegel.nl): the first primary school for Experience Oriented Education in the Netherlands (1990). He is co-founder (2003) and employee of NIVOZ in Driebergen, the Dutch institute for education and educational matters led by professor Luc Stevens (www.nivoz.nl).
He is co-founder (1996) and active member of the board of the Foundation E.G.O. St. Maarten (N.A.), a foundation which promotes the improvement of education at schools and the connection between situations at home and at school on the Antilles. (www.ervaringsgerichtonderwijs.nl/E.G.O. op de Antillen). Van Herpen is editor-in-chief of the educational magazine Egoscoop and the site www.ervaringsgerichtonderwijs.nl. He is an author of various columns and articles and a producer of a number of videos and DVD’s. In 2005 his book: ‘Experience Oriented Education: from orientation to implementation’ Garant 2005, appeared.
